Honolulu Marine, LLC, was formed in 1978 as a boat operator. After building the experimental twin-hull "Navatek II", they moved into boat construction and repair in the shipyard in Kewalo.

This is where "HIKINO" was built by Don Stoddard. She was built as a crew vessel to carry passengers and crew to ships offshore.
