This boat has been owned and enjoyed by a family that has fished her out of Hatteras and Oregon Inlet for some time. They have recently upgraded to a bigger boat. They are very capable around boats and have taken good care of her, specifically in regard to mechanical and electronics. She's a dependable fishing machine.
HERE'S WHAT SPORTFISHING MAGAZINE SAYS ABOUT HER:
This rugged, redesigned convertible is the heart of the Carolina Classic fleet of sport-fishers for serious offshore anglers. When she’s running in the big water, it’s hard to believe she’s only 28 feet, but that she is – and able to keep up with the big boys with ease, too. This 28’s cockpit, one of the largest in her class, makes most 40-footers envious. She’s fast and dry, has plenty of working room, and includes more-than-ample storage, fish boxes and a spacious livewell.
There’s plenty of living room as well. The big cabin has 6 feet of headroom for a completely comfortable space that includes a large V-berth with filler cushion; a galley with microwave, sink and refrigerator; a removable table in the dinette; and a full walk-in electric head complete with a shower. You’ll also find plenty of storage aboard, including numerous secure rod holders. These amenities keep everyone happy on those weekend excursions.
What makes her really special, though, is that she’s a Carolina Classic through and through. Her signature wide bow pushes aside the big seas and provides a soft re-entry. All fishing gear is the top-of-the-line equipment that serious fishermen demand.
The elevated helm deck keeps you dry and provides good visibility. Underneath, the huge engine compartment accommodates a wide range of power packages, so you can match it to your fishing conditions. And the amidships twin engines provide the power and balance to manage whatever Mother Ocean might give.
Tackle-rigging stations double as extra seating, while huge 50-gallon lift-out fish boxes fit flush in the cockpit deck, making it easy to boat a big catch. Fresh- and raw-water washdowns powered by high-capacity pressure pumps make cleaning up easy and fast.
Another notable feature – the oversize helm console – is large enough to accommodate today’s 15-inch electronics displays with room to spare. And the Carolina Classic 28’s helm station simply couldn’t be easier to customize. The entire console folds down to provide full access to all wiring.
Sizable and fully functional, this model is complete; the list of “extras” is very short. The most popular add-on – the upper-station tower – gives the option of enclosing the lower helm deck while providing a complete second station above. It’s rugged, all-welded-aluminum construction sports plenty of rocket launchers, along with Lee Pro outriggers.
Fast, rugged and easy-to-maintain – that’s the hallmark of all Carolina Classic offshore fishing boats.
