Built by Mirage Yachts in Miami, the 61' is designed by the very well known naval architect David Napier who of course is the legendary designer behind Bertram. In fact, the Mirage 61' is basically a stretched out 54' Bertram with prop pockets. Utilizing advanced "3Tex" technology, Mirage kept the boat extremely light for her size without sacrificing strength. Mirage also bonds hull, deck, stringers, bulkheads and partitions as well as interior elements making her a monocoque, or one piece structure. And for longevity, they only use vinylester resin to prevent any water intrusion in the laminate and subsequent osmotic blistering. With her light weight construction, thoroughbred Napier history, and twin 1800 HP C32 Cats, she has a top end speed of over 40 knots! But pull her back to just 1650 RPM, she still cruises at 26 knots burning only 37 gph per engine. With a fuel capacity of 1800 gallons, she has quite a range! Exit Strategy boasts a very roomy 3 stateroom/3 head layout with huge salon and open galley.
